New Smyrna Beach is located in Volusia County and is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach metropolitan area. The city is known for its beaches and historic downtown area, as well as being a popular spot for surfing and other water activities. The median age in New Smyrna Beach is 55 years old, and the city is predominantly White (90.3%), with smaller populations of Hispanic/Latino (6.1%) and Black or African American (1.7%) residents.
